From the Academia Sinica to ASIAA/NTU

ASIAA is located on the campus of the National Taiwan University (NTU), which is different from the Academia Sinica main campus in Nangang District. The distance between A.S. main campus and ASIAA is about 30 minutes by car; one hour by Taipei Metro (MRT) plus bus.

Academia Sinica Shuttle Bus Service provides the free buses for people taking part in A.S. main campus and National Taiwan University scholarly activities. Please board using your employee ID, student ID, or activity documents. For detalis, please refer to: https://dga.sinica.edu.tw/pages/3030. ASIAA visitors have to show the collaboration certificate (contact ASIAA front office) to the driver when you get on the bus.

Route 1 : MRT Wenhu (BR) Line (to MRT BR08 Technology Building Station)
  1. Take the bus (line 212,276,306,620,645,679,205,S5,S1,S12) to MRT BL23=BR24 Nangang Exhibition Center Station.
  2. Take the MRT Wenhu (BR) Line and get off at the MRT BR08 Technology Building Station.
  3. It is a 15 minute walk from MRT BR08 Technology Building Station to ASIAA.
Route 2 : MRT Bannan (BL) Line > MRT Sonshan-Xindian (G) Line (to MRT G08 Taipower Building Station or MRT G07 Gongguan Station)
  1. Take the bus (line 212 or 270 or Blue25) to MRT BL22 Nangang station.
  2. Take the MRT Bannan (BL) Line to MRT BL11=G12 Ximen Station.
  3. Transfer to MRT Sonshan-Xindian (G) Line (in the direction to Taipower Building/Xindian) and get off at the MRT G08 Taipower Building Station or MRT G07 Gongguan Station.
  4. It is a 15 minute walk from either station.
Route 3 : MRT Bannan (BL) Line > Bus (to the bus stop "Civil Service Development Institute")
  1. Take the bus (line 212 or 270 or Blue25) to MRT BL22 Nangang station.
  2. Take the MRT Bannan (BL) Line and get off at MRT BL14=O07 Zhongxiao Xinsheng station.
  3. Walk to the intersection Xinsheng S. Rd. and Zhongxiao E. Rd. and take a bus in the direction to Gongguan/NTU (line 280, 290, 311, 505, 642, 643, etc).
  4. Get off the bus at the stop of Civil Service Development Institute. Cross Xinsheng S. Rd. and take a 5 minute walk along Xinhai Rd.

From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Taipei downtown

Most international flights land in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Airport Code: TPE) which is situated 40km (24.8 miles) southwest of Taipei. It takes about an hour by car to get to most places in Taipei downtown in moderate traffic.

By Metro
Take the Taoyuan Airport MRT Line to get off at A1Taipei Main station. The on-way ticket from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei Main Station is NT$ 160. The ride (on the express train/Purple Line) takes roughly 35 minutes.
* Transfer to ASIAA: Follow the direction signs to walk to the MRT G13 Beimen Station. Take the MRT Sonshan-Xindian (G) Line to MRT G08 Taipower Building Station or MRT G07 Gongguan Station (one-way ticket: NTD20). Walk is approximately 15 minutes from either station.
By Taxi
Taxis queue outside the Arrival Halls of both Terminal Ι and Terminal II of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Airport taxis charge according to the meter (highway tolls not included). Typical fare to Taipei downtown is around NT$1,200~NT$1,400 (NT$1,400 to ASIAA/NTU; NT$1,700 to Academia Sinica). Note: Please ignore any solicitations of taxi service inside the Arrival Hall. Do hire one at the official taxi stop.
By Bus
There are several long-distance bus companies provide frequent services between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and downtown Taipei. The trip takes about 60-90 minutes. Ticket counters are located in the Arrival Passenger Reception Areas of both Terminals. Luggage is self served. Adult single fares vary from NT$ 125 to $150 depending on the location of the terminal stop in Taipei. English flyers are distributed on the ticket counter.   1. Recommended Bus Routes to ASIAA/NTU: Take the 1960 CitiAir Bus or 5502 Free Go Bus to MRT BL15=BR10 Zhongxiao Fuxing Satation. Transfer to MRT Wenhu (BR) Line and get off at MRT BR08 Technology Building Station. It is a 15 minute walk from MRT BR08 Technology Building Station to ASIAA. The taxi fare is approximately NT$160 from MRT BL15=BR10 Zhongxiao Fuxing Satation to ASIAA/NTU.
  2. Recommended Bus Routes to Academia Sinica in Nangang: Take the1843 Kuokuang Motor Busto Taipei Nangang Exhibitiion Center, and then transfer to the Taipei bus Line 205 or 212 or 276 or 306 and get off at Academia Sinica in Nangang. The taxi fare is approximately NT$100 from Nangang Exhibitiion Center to Academia Sinica.
